Should be called Rainy Coast right? Ok I might leave it there for the preview...
In what reads to be a Heavy 8 - we're quite used to that now from the:
'Best Racing Course in Australia'
- From someone who had a fill up one day.
If we have a blinder, or a stinker, you can listen to what the Mugs have in store tomorrow; for our full selection, scroll to the bottom of the page!
Race 1: BM62 (1100m)
We're backing favourites in the first in what's an ordinary opener. Wine Not Roses should be able to get across comfortably from what looks to be a tricky gate, but with a small field and not a lot of inside pace, Collett should be able to slot in perfectly. Just seems to be racing better than these.
Race 2: 3YO BM65 (1000M)
The 3YO's step out here over the sprint and oooooze zero confidence about handling these conditions. The Rattlesnake missed a run last Saturday so it'll be a big watch on this son of Spirit Of Boom, but how can you bet against Buying Time from the O'Dea/Hoysted at the Sunny Coast? It's a no bet for the Mugs but both these horses worth a follow in to the prep.
Race 3: Class 1 SW (1000M)
Well this should be easy. The top 3 in the market come through the exact same race 2 weeks ago! You've got Clairvue Girl who beat both her challengers home that day. Nothing screams confidence more than engaging an apprentice we've never heard of to ensure that weight swing stays in the favour of the Kendrick camp. With all that spruik, we're taking the favourite on. Soul Spirit was an absolute forgive run there last start, jumped with Clairvue Lady and Vienna Empress but when you're 17 wide the trip, the job is never easy. Expecting the aforementioned two to jump and led together with Soul Spirit having enough class to run over them late.
Race 4: Class 2 (1600M)
We're going to take this opportunity to have a moments silence for all the Mugs that got the $5 about Brave Nick last start, before seeing it getting crunched into $2 before the jump for a spectacular 6th. Tricky race - not for us.
Race 5: Colts, Geldings and Entires MAIDEN (1200M)
Ummmmm number 6? Teppanyaki is also a cool name. Hang on, isn't that - yes it's the former David Vandyke flop.
We're desperate, but another no race here Mugs.
Race 6: Shitfest 2022 (1800M)
Mugs you'll love this. We're going the roughie in the small field! Local Gossip on top. I would argue it's had one good run in it's career, and that run was on a Heavy 10 over the 1800m here at the Sunshine Coast (and it ran 2nd). Nemingah first-up on a Heavy for the first time in his career is a worry. Mr So and So no chance at the distance, not convinced So You're Magic is a wet tracker and Local Gossip drops from the 2200 back to 1800m. If that's a strong enough case jump on with us, otherwise it was the roughie so doesn't matter.
