Doomben | August 26

Well we had a successful finish to the midweek card last week at Ipswich so lets hope the run continues back at Doomben. We will be racing on a good 4 track with the rail out eleven metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 12.33pm.

Race 1: MAIDEN (1350M)

Maiden, lottery pretty happy to stay out of this one. There is value too with no clear favourite, so good luck if you find it.

Race 2: MAIDEN (1350M)

Well Agadoo should win won eventually so that is the way I am leaning but with a real lack of confidence as it just tends to find trouble and always be running on without winning.

Race 3: MAIDEN (1200M)

Well this is interesting, Oregan Coast goes on top but not sure what to make of the length of her defeats even though they were to Chilly Girl and then Pembrey, both of whom have gone on to do good things down south. You would think that form is the class here and should be winning but a couple of first starters from big stables line up as well.

Race 4: MAIDEN (1200M)

Another maiden here for the lads, and they have not made it overly easy to start the day. They have launched the Grafton gelding early but will have something small each way on Captain Blood for Gollan coming up from the Obrien team in Victoria. It may need the run, but happy to speculate at the price.

Race 5: Class 1 (1110M)

Tough race this one. Mimi’s was good fresh but there will be a lot more pressure here so not sure that style will suit this race. With a lot of tempo in this race if Dyami can run straight and his manners are a little better I could see him flashing down the outside of this lot but again pretty even race.

Race 6: Class 5 (1660M)

Another difficult race but with potential rain on the way Rock Hard Love probably comes into this race. Drawn in a middle alley and with three runs under the belt will be rock hard fit as well. Runs ok at Doomben and is a great each way bet.

Race 7: Class 3 (1200M)

Again hoping late in the day the precipitation has started and this will also suit Amuseantes who relishes those conditions. This is the right trip after two nice trials leading in and with a bit of tempo drawn out should be able to run them down late.

Race 8: Benchmark 68 (1350M)

Keeping this race very simple, Rimbaud will lead this in an absolute canter with no pace and with Jace taking the claim up from some racing down south he will be mighty had to beat in the last of the day.
