Well after heading West for the last few mid-week events we jump in the car belt up the highway and head to where champions are made Winx and Mystic Aroma to name a few. We will be racing on a Good 4 surface and even with the rail out 3 metres after last Fridays meeting I dare say on pace will be the place to be. The first race is due to kick off at 1.38PM local time.
Race 1: 3YO Benchmark 68 (1300M)
We have a Northern raider coming down in Isis Carmella and takes on the local her Apple Tart for the Kendrick yard. In a small field most of these have plenty of pace and will all go forward. These races do throw up the odd outsider lobbing but happy to be with Isis Carmella here from the inside draw bringing her to town is a push and Ben Thompson on board adds confidence.
Race 2: Class 1 Handicap (1000M)
Over the sprint trip we have a class one and a few of these are lightly raced including the recently gelded Military Gambler. He gets blinkers first time here and the form around him is pretty good having beaten Stellar Magic and Startantes to name a few.
Race 3: Class 5 Handicap (1200M)
A really nice field lines up for the Class 5 even with only six runners lining up. Dusty Tycoon for Mirunners will be leading this off and may prove hard to catch. The sunny coast track while it does have a long straight can play into the hands of leaders. Moonan Me I think will be much handier and with the claim and noting missing a place at this track could do a job on these at the $7 with a few queries on Dusty Tycoon.
Race 4: Fillies and Mares MAIDEN (1200M)
Good luck to the girls it’s a watch race.
Race 5: Colts, Geldings and Entires MAIDEN (1200M)
Same with the lads, we might unearth one but it’s a weight and see with these blokes.
Race 6: Benchmark 70 (1800M)
The standard Chris Waller middle distance benchmark 70 and there should be a bit of a go for the lead with Glamour Fox, Drumadoir and Senrima Tide going forward. Mocambo ran second to Karlstad which lines up well here but does get back and could find a bit of trouble. I think Drumadoir is the bet here coming off the synthetic which fair to say she didn’t handle. Performs well at this track and while she has not had success this trip before is building well to this.
Race 7: Class 4 Handicap (1000M)
This race looks pretty even on paper but to me Winside is a standout bet. On the 2nd of November came out and ran a really nice second behind Iolite who has subsequently come out and been very very good. Has a perfect first up record and will be camped behind this pace and will round them up with that explosive turn of foot.
Race 8: Class 2 Handicap (1400M)
Yourjokingme Right was just way to good last start to go past.
