It is the Race that stops a nation, the greatest Handicap race of the Australian Racing Calender, The Stradbroke Handicap.
12th of June, Eagle Farm the location. 18 horses will take their place to etch their name alongside Tyzone, Santa Ana Lane and Trekking, in the Brisbane history books.

During the week a few wagering companies that chose not to be names (because they're piling hot pieces of stank) released their early futures markets and although they are terrible odds, the Mugs thought we'd have a long range play and what tickles our fancies and what's leaving a funny taste in our mouths.
LLOYDY
Early Top Pick: Roheryn - $26 Happy to have something on this Godolphin galloper at the $26 early days. He has an impeccable undefeated record when resuming, including a win at Eagle Farm when fresh back on Boxing Day. He resumed terrifically off a freshen up in the Star Kingdom on Saturday at Rosehill against the pattern of the day and expect him to be kept fresh now for the June feature.
Early Poison: Isotope - $12 While Isotope is undoubtedly Queensland’s best 3YO (outside of Rothfire), she has failed at the 1400m at Eagle Farm back 12 months ago in the JJ Atkins, so there has to be some risk involved taking these odds. Gollan has also made it known that the Arrowfield Sprint is her target race and then is likely to go for a spell before the Victorian spring.
BEAN
Early Top Pick: The Harrovian - $26 and Simply Fly - $51 Both these horses have had massive preps that if rested up now could be pretty lethal come the Carnival here in QLD. Off the back of the ultra-impressive ASM run and prior lead up runs in town, The Harrovian if he draws a gate is a genuine chance. Simply Fly on the other hand may need help with the order of entry but he is six from eight and this gelding will run the 1400M no problems. He is a great roughie if he makes the field.
Early Poison: Tofane - $15 She won the All Aged Stakes over the same trip as the Stradbroke but came back awfully after that and simply has not looked good. There are no recent trials listed so we don’t even know if she will make it but we cannot have her at that price and can’t see her winning this year’s edition.
MOZ
Early Top Pick: Athiri $51 - Godolphin will certainly be bringing an army here but is she the forgotten girl amongst them? The one time Blue Diamond favourite certainly lived up to her potential last prep, putting back to back wins together before being beat a pimple by subsequent Group 1 winner Krone. Although she hasn't stretched out to 1400m, with a potential back up into the Tatts Tiara they'll certainly want her to run the trip.
Early Poison: Ayrton $9 FAV - Well, this could be the biggest 'come back to bite me moment of 2021'. Yes impressive at his two starts, but that's it, 2 starts! He’s a 64 rater who won a BM70. In my view, he should be $9 to even make the field on ratings! Clickbait headlines don't gain you starts in Group 1's Mr Price, although knowing Queensland Racing it probably does.
