Righto Mugs, this isn't any normal Mug Preview. Don't expect $41 winners like Bean produces on a Wednesday, just one big, fat, three-leg multi to send you charging into the weekend. The rail goes out 7.5m for the entire course, and the track is a Soft 5. The meeting gets underway at 2:12pm AEST.
LEG 1
Race 1 - 2YO Handicap (1100m) - #3 TRACK TALE ($1.45)
What more do you expect? Wiggo, Ricky and an odds-on shot to start the day. TRACK TALE smashed them on debut when heavily backed. Pissed in. Six lengths was the margin and she never looked like stopping. A recent jump out down the straight at Rocky suggested she's come back even better, and Wiggo sticks with her despite partnering second favourite In Evidence to a 4.8L win last start.
LEG 2
Race 4 - Open Handicap (1400m) - #3 MONTENGRO MAN ($2.60)
I could come to regret this and I'll never hear the end of it, but I just don't see how Master Jamie can beat MONTENEGRO MAN with the 8kg weight difference. Yes, he's won with big weights before, but that was against slow animals. Montenegro Man brings genuine Brisbane metro form, coming from races behind Mugs favourite Palladas, King Of Sparta, Garibaldi and Group 1 winner Vega One. In his only start at this course and distance, he was a 6.3L winner with 59kg on his back, here he has just 57.5kg. He'll have the first shot at MJ.
LEG 3
Race 5 - Class 3 Plate (1300m) - #3 BETTER RAIN ($1.75)
Don't be silly, back Bubba Tilley. BETTER RAIN looks the easy bet in this Class 3. He's used to carrying big weights against his own age, having worn the #1 saddlecloth in his past two starts at Doomben in Group 3 and 3YO Benchmark 72 company. Two starts back, he was 2.7 lengths off Fashion Legend who went on to win the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas. He's won three at the track, the 1300m will suit, the inside barrier suits. How do they beat him?
