This is how tight the Mugs are with RQ. They came to us and said, "Mugs, we noticed it is Mug Mozza's BIRTHDAY on Tuesday, where would you like us to schedule a meeting?" Of course, the logical answer was, "the greatest place on earth please, RQ." So here we are - seven races from Rocky are going around. Talk about a gift!
Track: Soft 5 | Rail: +7.5m Entire Course | Race 1: 1:34pm AEST
Race 1: Maiden Handicap (1300m)
What a way to start?! Six horses, six non-winners and five horses in single figures. As Marnus Labuschagne would say, "No ruuuuun".
Race 2: 2YO Maiden Handicap (1050m)
The words two-year-old maiden and living breathing don't often go hand in hand, especially when said living breathing is having its first race start. Nat McCall has a pretty red-hot track record when she sends horses north to Rocky, so Raise Hell has really perked my interest here. The colt by Hellbent has had the benefit of three trials, including a half-length defeat to Stroll and Spiritualised back in December - two of Queensland's top youngsters. Jake Molloy is engaged and will take 3kg off Raise Hell's back, which will be an absolute blessing over the 1050m. If he can slot in one out, one back from barrier eight, I doubt we will see Raise Hell get beaten.
Race 3: 3YO Handicap (1200m)
From one good thing to another, Art By Concorde will have to do a bit wrong to get beaten in the third race of the day. Without a doubt this is the toughest race the Craig Smith-trained galloper has come up against, but a win over In Order two starts back and then a gritty win at Emerald first-up this time in, the son of Stradbroke Handicap winner Under The Louvre looks to have come back well. He is a winner at this track and distance in the past and he has drawn to do no work from the inside alley.
Race 4: 2YO Handicap (1200m)
Tour De Dream is a $1.65 chance at the time of writing, but the bookies have got it wrong. The Jason Morgan-trained filly should be $1.20 in this field, even with a couple of debut winners with weight relief. The filly by Sepoy gave Better Rain windburn on debut at Rockhampton over 1100m, and that runner just ran second in the $500,000 QTIS Jewel 2YO on the Gold Coast behind She'sgottheboom. From barrier five, Tour De Dream will find the front under Adam Sewell and she will not see another horse. How's that for confidence?!

Race 5: Open Handicap (1100m)
This is one of the races of the day, with some of the region's top horses lining up. When a class sprinter like Barachiel goes around at $16, you simply have to be on. To then add to that, Tahlia Fenlon goes on board and claims 3kg, so the ghostly grey will be running around with just 56.5kg on his back. There will be speed galore in this race over 1100m, so Barachiel will be smoking the pipe and then storming home down the hey-diddle-diddle to get the job done. He may just be too good for these.
Race 6: Benchmark 55 (1500m)
We have done a lot of confident punting in races two through to five, so we are going to sit out of the penultimate and then HONE IN on the last race of the day.
Race 7: Benchmark 65 (1300m)
It is a nice race to end the day with Clinton Taylor's two horses dominating the market. We are going to follow Justin Stanley's lead in - he jumps off Brigalow Boy to ride In Order in her bid to win a fifth-straight race. The mare by Better Than Ready has been dominant in her past three wins at this track and distance, and while she rises a few kegs in weight, but she gains plenty of experience from Stanley and has drawn to do no work from the inside gate. She can win again.
