Ahhhh, pre-Everest Day fill-ups; that's what you follow the Mugs for. Trust me when I say, I am desperate for a fill-up!
Rail in the True, track is a GOOD4, no stitch-up jobs. May the best horses win.
Race 1 | OPEN Handicap (1050 METRES)
The former Tony Gollan potential superstar, Leadership Spill, will be setting a perfect pace up front for another horse that hasn't had his day for a very long time, Courtesy Bus. That last win was at this track and distance, and he gets a 2kg advantage on the former from their last meeting. I just don't think Chickerartie has been measuring up to BM65 grade, let alone open company.
Race 2 | BM70 Handicap (1300 METRES)
Humour Me is the definition of upside in a race like this. He gets in incredibly well with the claim, and Nick Walsh is next level.
Not rocket science, but the first two favorites should get the job done.
Race 3 | Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap (1200 METRES)
We've gone from slice and dice to “shit in a blender.” The top three in the market all clashed at Yeppoon a couple of starts back, with Woodstock Rock pulling away from the other two. All three were scrubbed up to find the lead there, and with no clearer picture from the barrier draw, it’s a long paragraph to say: no bet.
Race 4 | Maiden Handicap (1100 METRES)
Well, there are 'ride it like the best horse in the race' instructions, and then there's what Bigcat had to do last start. Should be a margins and times job here.
Race 5 | Class 2 Handicap (1100 METRES)
Well, LAYentum got us last start, but we’ll get him again here. Humour Me salutes for the Mugs in Race 2, and a horse that did it tough against him last start was Terminus. He had to loop the field from the wide gate and try to fight off Humour Me at level weights, while having to give Lamentum 5kg that starts. J. Hux takes the ride; it’s a short Mackay straight, and if left alone for a few cheap sectionals, he can run a big race at big odds.
Race 6 | 0 - 55 Handicap (1200 METRES)
Scratchings galore, but that won’t stop the Mugs!
Wiggo will have to hold on to get in from barrier 17 on Mil Ciento, but forget getting across; I'm more worried about him staying on (and not required to trial? WTF, okay).
I don’t know what happened last start with Greylist; both leaders died in the you-know-what to finish last and second last. That What A Doozy form will be on display in Race 4 with Spitzberg, so barrier...
Race 7 | BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1560 METRES)
Don’t fix what ain’t broke.
Mighty Judd was too good for them last start with the draw; I don’t think this race is any stronger. Thank you!
Race 8 | BM65 Handicap (1800 METRES)
This is actually it. If Street Glory cannot win here with a 3kg swing on El Of A Senorita, it will never win another race. Olivia, if you're reading, send her to the front and don’t look back.
