Well seems like its one week in town then back to Royal Ipswich, and that means this week we head out there. We are back on a good 4 track to start the day with the rail out eight metres for entire course and the first race to jump at 1.18pm.
Race 1: Class 1 (2200M)
An absolute Ipswich Wednesday classic this is the class 1 2200M race to start the day. I am keeping this pretty simple and backing the horse with the most upside. In this case that would be Piston Rebel for the Kropp team. With three starts and building into every run, he has the most upside and happy to lean that way in a super open race.
Race 2: MAIDEN (1100M)
Well the form for this race was franked earlier this week. Immediate came in behind Meldubious and it starts $1.50 here the other day and bolted in. So back Immediate, and multi bank it for the day, it will be winning.
Race 3: MAIDEN (1100M)
Well the colts and geldings get a run here and the mugs are back at Royal Ipswich. Encrypted Feeling gets his first race start for the Hulberts and off some pretty good trials looks ready to go with Angela Jones sticking. The obvious danger is Valedictorian but our guy should be in this for a long way.
Race 4: Benchmark 75 (800M)
The classic 800M charge of the light brigade around the tight turning track at Ipswich. It is a pretty similar field to last start and while Palawa Kani has been in super form I thought 1000M back to 800M might not be the right recipe. Sticking with the last start form around Enuff Pills who beat home a few of these but Maguro gets the key weight swing on it here and that is where I have landed for this race.
Race 5: Class 2 (1100M)
This is actually a pretty decent field for a Wednesday Ipswich meeting and Surprise Honey coming through form behind Bright Blonde and Alectrona should have her bolting in here, but also Pareto has city form as does Giliana. Sticking with the favourite in a more open race than it looks.

Race 6: Benchmark 65 (1700M)
Well Ryan Maloney worked his magic in the stewards room a couple of weeks ago and hopefully he simply doesn’t need to do that this week. Cherish the Day was great first up in a hot form race and then won subsequently here. The further step out in trip will really suit and with Maloney sticking and barrier one, happy to be with again.
Race 7: Benchmark 68 (1200M)
The two fancied runners here is the last line up next to each other and I think we the slight weight swing in her favour Flying Shelly can get the chocolates here today. She should get a gun steer from Ben Thompson and will get the drop on Zoufani from barrier 2.
