Ipswich | November 8

It is back to midweek madness and we head out west to Bundamba racecourse for some more magic. We get to load up on a eight race midweek card at Ipswich and there are a few nice types going around. We will be racing on a soft 5 track with the rail out six metres for the entire course with the first race is to jump at 1.18pm AEST.

Race 1: MAIDEN (1350M)

This is a pretty tough race to start the day but Northern Decree looks a bet coming out of the Enterprise Attack race two weeks ago. In that run drew wide and had to push forward and took it up and was entitled to tire late in the peace. He was beaten four but the winner looks smart and with race fitness and barrier six Jaden should have him handy in the run and doing much less work.

Race 2: Class 4 Handicap (1100M)

This race confirms my illness and that is picking and sticking. Circularity has done everything but win this time in but gets his chance here. Ben Thompson jumps on here and in a small field he should be able to use that early pace and be just off them if not leading. Comes up the favourite here but happy to stick with even at the price.

Race 3: MAIDEN (1100M)

Maiden, big field, Ipswich, no thanks.

Race 4: MAIDEN (1350M)

Schmoozer, James Orman on, tick, blinkers on, tick out to the 1350M big tick. Bet till it hurts.

Race 5: Benchmark 65 (2180M)

Absolute garbage race, wouldn’t be surprised to see Populist or Mt Mort Shark with his solid Ipswich form but I will not be betting in this race.

Race 6: Benchmark 65 (1200M)

There are only two that can win this race and that is Litermont and Sacca. I am siding with the former which is mostly down to barrier and was super last start looking the winner and then peaking on the run late. She is third up here and keep the claim and at peak fitness will be hard to hold out.

Race 7: Class 1 (1350M)

Well this race there is an ex-Sydney horse who came out first start up here in Queensland and brained them at the coast by more than four lengths. Jag rode that day and is sticking suggesting a bit of an opinion of this filly and the Neasham stable is flying all over the country and will be continuing it here, so back Writrose.

Race 8: Band 0 – 70 Handicap (1350M)

Interesting race to end the day and I am siding with the $4.40 favourite in the last with Ben Thompson. Noble Beauty beat home Litermont two starts ago who I like in the sixth race and post that was only beaten by Logan Street Lion by 1.5 lengths on Cup day and that form looks good really good for this.
