Ipswich | May 15

Well we had one week at Eagle Farm and they have sent us back out to Bundamba racecourse for another Wednesday meeting, clearly they don’t want the mugs taking over town. We will be racing on a good 4 if these early morning showers stay away with the out four metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 12.33pm.

Race 1: MAIDEN (800M)

Tessatori over the shorter trip from the low draw here looks a nice little play early on in the card. With the step back in trip and the three kilo claimer engaged it is the right recipe at Ipswich.

Race 2: Class 3 (1680M)

This is that race where you have to decide to pick which horse you’ve backed before to give faith to again, today is not that day PASS!

Race 3: MAIDEN (1100M)

Today is the day for Impendor, the draw is probably less than ideal however three prior starts with form around our boy Ocean Honour, Press Link and even Jonny Da Wolf who was impressive here last start looks easily good enough for this lot.

Race 4: Benchmark 65 (1100M)

Trial hards come to the party here with Mozza and we listen and follow him in, Cryptoshare trialled up very impressively and with Huxtable back in firing form and barrier 6 there is no reason to bet with confidence here.

Race 5: Class 1 (1200M)

Lumens Lenny deserves the shorter quote here, come through a really good race at Eagle Farm where there have been at least four subsequent winners come out of that race. Draws the pole here and is simply a jump, lead and win proposition for Ryan Maloney.

Race 6: Benchmark 65 (1350M)

Pretty interesting race here and many ways you could go but I am sticking loyal here. Touch of Gracie was good at Toowoomba, then won on Archer day beating home All the Shops who was good yesterday at Rockhampton and now she comes to Ipswich. The draw is a little tricky but with KWT staying on happy to play again at the $10 each way price.

Race 7: Benchmark 65 (1350M)

We loved Jonny Da Wolf last start, so why jump off now, yes it is a stronger field but barrier nine and after a six length romp here over a similar trip last start bet up!

Race 8: Class 5 (1200M)

I am Taking the Lot is a shorter priced commodity than most in race six earlier in the day and Jovita beat it home last start behind the quality of Pizarro. She comes to this second up and drops a few kilos and as we all know Sammy Collett goes super at Ipswich, at the price she looks a nice each way play to finish off the day on a high.
