Ipswich | January 18

Well fingers crossed the sprinklers have been off overnight and we are racing on a Good 4 come tomorrow, but with Queensland racing who knows. We should be racing on a Good 4 track with the rail out 10m for the entire course. The first race is to jump at 1.38pm AEST.

Race 1: MAIDEN (800M)

Mishani versus the rest here and with mostly of these lightly raced it’s a pass race for the Mugs.

Race 2: Benchmark 75 (800M)

This will be a race where they absolutely fly along and Sequesay with Ben Thompson on and the best record at this track and trip of this lot will prove very hard to hold out.

Race 3: MAIDEN (1350M)

Pretty simple, nope, field of about 2,000 runners.

Race 4: Benchmark 65 (2210M)

Well they have made it easy for us here...NOT. Siding with the top weight in Guts ‘N’ Glory. From the draw, he should be able to camp just off the pace and with two runs at 2000M leading in will be at peak fitness here and a few of the more highly fancied runners will be trying to run on late but will be too late.

Race 5: Class 1 (1710M)

Let's cheer home our boy Jaden here. He jumps aboard the top weight in Vyner and with the use of that early pace and third up here out to a more suitable trip this will be the day he notches up his second win. Peak fitness and the map the keys here.

Race 6: Benchmark 65 (1100M)

Controlocracy comes to this race off a perfect track and distance record and last start was run down by a horse that flies fresh while she was caught in a speed battle. With a middle draw and the in-form Brodie Loy on, I am backing her to get back into the winner's stall getting back on a deck she loves.

Race 7: Class 2 (1200M)

This is the last chance for me here for Ned’s Gully. A horse we have been fond of but he does get back and rattle home and yet for some reason we find him again racing back at Ipswich. The barrier will really assist here and with Jaden jumping back aboard he can atone for some recent misfortunes.

Race 8: Benchmark 68 (1350M)

This race sets up perfectly for Spokesman with the other three fancied runners in Miss Baltimore, Seacole and Ain’t She Lovely all probably looking to take this up out in front. Jimmy should be able to camp just off them and with a super first up record and success at this track previously, we can see him winning again.
