Ipswich | February 5

Writer: Mugs PuntingMugs Punting

Ipswich again today for the midweek card today and the smaller racing cards continue again with seven to assess today. We will be racing on a soft 5 to a good 4 track with the rail out for three and a half for the entire course and the first race to jump at 2.13pm.

Race 1: MAIDEN (800M)

Absolutely no clear here, I would lean towards horses drawn in but this is a complete lottery.

Race 2: MAIDEN (1200M)

Just take the shorts here about Cool Moon, the horse was pretty good at Doomben last start and will improve out in trip here and from the pole draw gets every favour here.

Race 3: MAIDEN (1350M)

Pretty tough race again here with lots of these horses mixing form significantly. Ninjitzou was ultra impressive and unlucky to just miss last start. The stable is absolutely flying and while the draw is poison, Ryan Maloney has the ability to offset the gate with his class so back him here.

Race 4: Class 2 (1680M)

Well, Godzilla was very impressive last start and fourth up here with James Orman on for the Gollan team he can atone over a similar trip and is on the up and up here for this team.

Race 5: Class 5 (1350M)

Looks to be a fair bit of tempo in a race like this, and for that reason one that will sit off them and that has the Rocky from is Connewarre. Super impressive last start and perhaps can progress here in an even field with luck and with two wins from five attempts over this trip looks a good bet with the addition of significant weight relief.

Race 6: Class 1 (1100M)

Well the stable has been a bit unlucky of late but if there is anytime to back Shot of Whiskey, its first up and over this shorter trip. From barrier 5 Jasper should be looking to jump, get to the rail and put simply, handle bars down! The three kilo claim gives it every chance to salute at the short quote here.

Race 7: Class 1 (1350M)

Well Johnny Da Wolf is back and fair to say its one of ours. He has down a trip to Warrnambool, been to Whalers, lost his voice with Ric McIntosh and returns here to Bundamba racecourse for his next win. Gets a soft 5 track here and from the draw should be able to push forward and sit one back, one out and charge over the top late.
