Ipswich again today for the midweek card today and the smaller racing cards continue again with seven to assess today. We will be racing on a soft 5 track with the rail out for nine and a half for the entire course and the first race to jump at 2.13pm.
Race 1:Benchmark 68 (2170M)
Scarlet Prince goes on top here purely from the different form lines at the Gold Coast compared to the other four in the market but looks a tough race over a trip with a small field.
Race 2: MAIDEN (1700M)
Sticking with Possibilities in this race even though we need to take the really short odds about a horse that just does not want to win yet. The step out in trip will suit and hopefully the classy Wheeler can offset the wide draw.
Race 3: MAIDEN (1100M)
Keeping it very simple here, stick with Gollan when it comes to unraced horses, Angela Jones jumps aboard, and Woosh Ka Boom well lets just hope it does all of that and more. Wide draw is against it but the classy steer can offset that draw.
Race 4: Benchmark 85 (1100M)
Probably the best race of the day in terms of quality and Liquor is the one we are with here. Has two start at Ipswich for two wins so clearly loves this track. It will shoot forward from the outside alley and look to cross them and with a trial under its belt and a nice fresh record should be hard to beat here.
Race 5: Class 4 (1100M)
Fortuneer surely wins this first up. A really good fresh horse and its last two starts was beaten home by the stable mate, now scratched and prior to that Tribeca Start. She draws low and can sit just off the speed and unleash that finishing burst late and keep this little run of the Hoysted stable going.
Race 6: Class 5 (1700M)
Steering away form the favourite here as it just looks under the odds. The Neasham and Archibald runner Tyndrum Gold was good first up without any luck at all and that was a blanket finish. With even luck today and a much softer draw he may be able to take up the running and control this out in front.
Race 7: Class 3 (1350M)
Finish the day on a high with Pele Princess who was simply superb first up the other day at Ipswich. It is a bit concerning how Ninjitzou went in town but that was a really strong race and from a softer draw you would only assume improvement second up here with Vlad Duric retaining the ride.
