We have been spoilt with many back to back weeks at headquarters in two and with plenty of rain on the way today we are back at Ipswich. We are back on good 4 track to start the day but there will be a significant down grade throughout the day and we have six races this afternoon with the rail out four metres for entire course and the first race to jump at 1.43pm.
Race 1: MAIDEN (1200M)
An almost impossible race to assess first up. We have sided with the form around the stable more so than the horse and leaning to Elrond here for the Munce team. He was pretty good first up and second up and just didnt get the 1400M third up. He carries weight here but in one of the few horses who has experienced wet conditions so hopefully that holds him in good stead.
Race 2: MAIDEN (1680M)
Keen to side with the James Healy trained Monastery, seems he has a few really good wet trackers at the moment. Monastery was really good last start winning over a similar trip and from the pole draw Tiffani Brooker can control it from in front with the light weight.
Race 3: MAIDEN (1680M)
Happy to steer clear this race, it should be decided by the top three in the market but Wimoweh is starting to look a bit like a non-winner and Slipsain is only early into his racing career.
Race 4: Benchmark 70 (1100M)
This is an ok race for midweek Ipswich. The key player is Negotiations if he handles the heavy ground which it may get to by this point in the day then form lines around Epic Proportions last start should be enough here. He will be about to sit off the speed with most of these coming across trying lead at a wild pace.
Race 5: Benchmark 65 (1350M)
On form Lady Lucifer should win this but honestly its becoming a bit costly the amount of times that I have tipped her. Gelatin was ok last time in town and he now gets what will be rain affected ground and Ben Thompson on board. He will improve second up and the step out will suit as well.
Race 6: Class 1 (1680M)
Another tough race but Cherish the Day was running on well latest against a few of these. The step out in trip should suit and while up in weight does get the services of Ryan Maloney and will be the one running on and hard to hold out.
