After a lot of central midweeks we are back out at Ipswich today for a huge ten race card. We will be racing on a soft 6 track with the rail out eight metres for entire course and the first race to jump at 11.27am.
Race 1: MAIDEN (1100M)
Unraced maidens, hard pass.
Race 2: MAIDEN (1100M)
Again, pass.
Race 3: MAIDEN (1240M)
Third and final, no thanks.
Race 4: MAIDEN (1240M)
First up this gelding clearly did not handle the ground but the market support early suggests there is talent here and back on dryer ground and well drawn we can see improvement here. Cerons gets the claim of Cobi Vitler and with early pace can control this race out in front.
Race 5: MAIDEN (1240M)
Sticking with that form again here and Paro, for the Lockwood yard. It was a really brave effort first up and if Cerons turns it around in the race prior this bloke will start odds on. Ruins of Rome looks smart and that form line should hold up again here.
Race 6: Class 1 (1200M)
We are siding with the stable switched For Better here for the Archibald and Neasham team. He comes up from two narrow defeats on the synthetic track. From barrier one she will be able to position up behind the speed and should be too classy for them late with no weight on the back.
Race 7: Benchmark 65 (1240M)
Lady Lucifer we were keen on in Saturday grade last start and she just didn’t let down as expected, the form prior to that was super and with even luck and the in form King Callow on board she should be able to sit close the speed and as long as she gets room in the straight, let down over the top of these.
Race 8: Benchmark 64 (1240M)
If Mayne crosses these early it could be all she wrote, but if not I just thought I Am Marvel gets the runs of the race from barrier four and with a win at the track previously and decent form leading in he gets his chance in an even race.
Race 9: Benchmark 78 (1700)
Keeping it simple enough here, there appears at least on paper to be a lack of tempo so I am going to back the key leader in Grinzinger Knight. Jump, lead and win Lang! She’s been rating the speed very well of late and will continue it here for a nice result.
Race 10: Benchmark 68 (1100)
I like the look of the Gambling Greek here but the distance may just be a little to sharp for here, for that reason Rich Minx goes on top. Winning three from four starts over this trip and a nice winner on the Gold Coast synthetic last start has her primed for this with Chip Collis on board.
