We have been spoilt with a few cracking midweek race days in town and well it is time we venture back out west to the infamous Bundamba race track. We will be racing on a soft 6 track. We have the with the rail out three metres and the first race to jump at 11.56am.
Race 1: MAIDEN (1100M)
Get a good sleep in because the work begins this race.
Race 2: Benchmark 68 (1350M)
Pretty confident in race two with the Gollan runner Gospel Girl. She came out first up and brained them at an absurd quote and the second up went down a length to the very smart Metalart. From barrier eight here Orman should be able to sit outside lead or one back and she will be very strong late.
Race 3: Class 4 (1350M)
Interesting race this with Our Magnus the short priced commodity. Going away from him here and hitting up the other end of the weights with Kinetic. This horse runs super at Ipswich and was pretty good in behind Brookhaven last start. Down in weights, if she isn’t having one more run than she should here, she can be super hard to hold out here.
Race 4: MAIDEN (1350M)
Well the best form in Queensland right now is Majestic Boom form and Exceed Speed has that and a really nice gate. With good gate speed and the in form Michael Rodd on he will be peaking in fitness third up and if he can sit one out one back he’ll be winning here.
Race 5: Benchmark 65 (2150M)
Jump, lead and win. Gripping will be sitting handy here but Aliraaj with the key weight swing and hopefully the lead throughout could turn the tables on the last time these two clashed.
Race 6: Class 2 (1666M)
Mannerheim should be winning this surely but barrier ten at Ipswich is horrific, in saying that I think Port Mourant has since come out and won so the form has been franked. If your desperate just back the favourite.
Race 7: Class 1 (1350M)
This horse just doesn’t win first up and was everything but home last start. He will really improve second up, Michael Rodd on and seems to do his best work here at Bundamba race track. Backing Drialle here for the Lockwood team and hoping he can be closer and they are running on better towards the end of the day.
Race 8: Open Handicap (1200M)
Well we are going to whole New Level here and this horse has this preparation as well. First up was in behind Majestic Boom, Deferential and Touch of Gracie and beat home Machine Head. The two latter runners both saluting at Toowoomba on Saturday night. New Level was right there with them. He gets barrier two and as long as Orman does battle it out with Nikita out in front he will be justifying the early money and short quote.
Race 9: Benchmark 65 (1100M)
It’s Gerry! Back in trip here to the 1100M is key. He does not get the 1200M but has five wins from eleven attempts over this trip and is one from one at the track. Early speed and the claimer engaged in Bailey Wheeler will see him leading this lot off and fourth up this prep will be ready to win again with subsequent form coming out of his most recent race in town.
