EFN BIG, EFN Forgive or EFF Off Review

Writer's picture: Mugs PuntingMugs Punting

Well, the punting balance has thankfully RESET - We are at the Grand Final and the Mugs are big time players. It's Stradbroke Day this weekend but lets look back and live, laugh, love on the weekend that was Oaks Day.

EFN BIG

Duais - QLD Oaks Winner

Race 8

Jockey: H Bowman - Trainer: E Cummings

There was Duais, then the rest of the 3YO's. She absolutely walloped them, the concerns where:

- the time between runs, didn't matter,

- the concern was where she'd sit, didn't matter

- the concern was the training performance, DID NOT MATTER.

Bowman pulled out a peach of a ride and was never in doubt from the 800 as she cruised up and put them away. She opened at $4.50 and some lucky Mugs rode her all the way in to the shorts but we're never in doubt.

Tony Gollan

Produced Baller + Setanta

The turn around wizard, both Baller + Setanta had shown glimpses of ability but enter the Boss of the Gallopers dancefloor TJ Gollan and you get winners!

I remember Anthony Cummings saying Baller wouldn't look out of place in an Everest a few years ago (LOL), looking to finally have hit his peak who knows (Still No)! Opting not to back up into the Stradbroke and stay to the sprinting trips it will be interesting to see what Gollan does with a lot of his borderline listed level horses who will be close to being weighted out of Brisbane Saturday Grade.

Special Mention: Incentivise R1, Where did that come from? #TBAFORM

EFN FORGIVE

Macewen - 6th QTIS Jewel

Race 3

Jockey: R Maloney - Trainer: T Gollan

Well, there's horses for courses and there's Macewen and Eagle Farm. We hate ride bashing but geeeeeeeeeee I bet R Dawggg might want that one again. He's a horse has only EVER won coming wide, with room, down the outside of the track.

The run was there to tap onto Safework and get the dream run home, but not to be as he finally got there when it was too late and for the greatest 50m sprint home for 6th

Boomtown Lass - 2nd

Race 4

Jockey: G Boss - Trainer: C Anderson

Sorry Bossy fans, this was a case of local superstar jockey (Big Baylee) outsmarting a bloke who think he can rock up, play golf 4 times a week, drive a maserati to the track and ride 9 winners.

The wide draw was always going to be the concern, but she flew out and gave it up to Usmanov (WHO DOESN'T LEAD RACES) then decides to sit off him for the trip. She's a fast crusiing horse that absorbs pressure, he had to push too lead or this was going to be the result. That's why Baylee has a beanie and Bossy doesn't.

EFF OFF

Rocketing By - 4th

Race 9

Jockey: Nash Rawiller - Trainer: M Dunn

Has done nothing in QLD, perhaps your NSW form really isn't that good, I mean The Move came down there and spanked your locals. 5th + 7th + 4th starting in the red, you are done with by the Mugs, GOOD BYE

Any horse rated 75 -90 that runs between 1800 -2200m

There's a race every week

I mean a last start winner in a Toowoomba BM70 absolutely donkey licks a field of Saturday class gallopers? What an absolute joke, let's hope this thing spanks this field every fortnight so we don't get the Chris Waller D Grade army here rorting the Benchmark system

Any we missed or are judging to harsh?
