Eagle Farm Preview 3/04/21

Eagle Farm will play host to nine races on Easter Saturday. The rail is out 5.5m for the entire circumference of the course, and the track is rated a Good 3, but expect it to race more like Nudgee Beach...

We kick off the afternoon with a small field of 2YOs over 1400m and we are siding with the sole maiden of the field in Seefeld. This Heathcote runner is a half to famous Queensland sprinter Buffering, so he has big shoes to fill. Having placed twice from two starts including a fast-finishing second last time out behind I've Bean There, he should be ready to win.

Our mate Joymaker lines up in the second and it is hard to go past him after he dismissed his rivals in fashion last start. He stays at the same track and trip here so there is no reason why he can't be winning.

One of the bets of the day comes up in race three, with the Guy-trained Clearance Sale resuming under Michael Rodd. The form he brings to this BM72 is superior to everything else in this race, so with the good gate and good jock, he should be winning well.

We are going to stay out of the fourth, but we suspect it will be a nice form race going forward. Dis Dah Wun is looking to make it five straight wins, while Ingear is hoping to bounce back for the famous Black & White silks of Blacksoil Bloodstock. East Asia has been heavily backed early too. Cracking race; no bet.

Similar story in the fifth, with just six horses going at it over 1200m. It's quite a select field, with Apache Chase, Kisukano, Gotta Kiss, Mass Destruction, Tycoon Evie and Queen Sweeper the six runners involved. Happy to be with Mass Destruction; just.

Race Six is an interesting one with plenty of differing form lines. There is now No Third Dividend so it makes it hard to back anything with much confidence here. Quickly becoming a No Bet race.

Arguably the race of the afternoon sees She's Za Boss take on Wren's Day in a BM90 over 1400m. We are with Cody Morgran's Wren's Day to bring home the choccies. After being runner-up to Ventura Ocean two back, he won his next start with VO further franking the form to win again. Kilner takes 3kg off which is a big plus.

Chris Waller has two non-winners involved in the penultimate; Kubrick and Word For Word, and while we think they will both run well, they are hard passes. Not shocked to see anything win this. Take the field in your quaddie.

Another tough way to finish, but we are going to speck TJ Gollan's pair Air Spirit and Pizonie. Hopefully one of them can get us out.
