Eagle Farm | November 12

The spring carnival is over, and we are a few weeks away from the Summer Carnival in Queensland. We find ourselves on a soft 5 track with the rail out nine metres for entire course and the first race to jump at 2.18pm.

Race 1: Class 1 (1000M)

Interesting race this with a few non-winners Amosu comes through some very solid form lines here and with the pace drawn out here she will get a good run in behind and will need the gaps late but should be good enough to win this with form around Cool Archie first up last preparation.

Race 2: Benchmark 65 (1200M)

Robert Heathcote has an interesting runner here in Southern Money coming up from down south. Usually with these horses I like to watch first up but in a race that has a small field and what appears on paper a complete lack of pace she could lead this uncontested comfortably. She comes in after three trials so should be rock hard fit and drawn low hopefully can run these off their feet early and be too strong late.

Race 3: MAIDEN (1600M)

Not too sure how to play this race. Tulong is the favourite but gets weight against key rivals and did have its chance last start to win the race. Zephirine is the classic Waller runner, first up the mile and peaked on the run but drops a kilo here and with a kinder draw and not being held up late I am keen to be with this Zousain mare.

Race 4: MAIDEN (1400M)

Not keen this race happy to stay out.

Race 5: Class 1 (1845M)

This race we get the Captain Eagle form and San Gabriel form and for that reason it looks like Easy Love’s race to lose. Maloney sticks, steps out in trip, and will be peaking third up, it will be winning.

Race 6: Class 5 (1400M)

Well could be brave going against a last start Bazinga tip in Disney Castle but Lost his Beans get the weight this race because he is the class in this race. There will be a genuine tempo here with a lost of this willing to take it up. Maloney should be able to sit back midfield on Lost his Beans and unleash the turn of foot late to climb over them. The key will be if he stays the trip as most of his previous runs have been over shorter trips.

Race 7: Class 2 (1500M)

While I like the form around San Gabriel I need to see a win on what should be a good track by this time in the afternoon. Vos Savant however chased home the smart Poster Girl last start after having to get around heels in the straight. She will get a good track by this time in the afternoon, drawn in the middle and there should be a genuine tempo with Lietuva and Inca Trail bowling along in front.
