Back to headquarters on what looks a spectacular Wednesday, sun is out, the horse flesh is ready to go and so are the mugs. We have the standardised eight race card today with the rail is out nine metres for the entire course with the first race to jump at 12.55pm. Â
Â
Race 1: MAIDEN (1000M)
Aristocratic Girl has been good a few runs this preparation and with her on pace style I think the race sets up nicely for her. She can stalk the speed and has a great front riding jockey in Georgie Cartwright on board.
Â
Race 2: MAIDEN(1200M)
Similar sort of recipe here as I think on pace or leading will be where you want to be today. This race looks devoid of tempo and Mercatello has had a couple of great run in behind the aforementioned Aristocratic Girl and the very fast Strike Weapon. Fourth up this preparation gets out to 1200M and Angela Jones sticking on board.
Â
Race 3: MAIDEN (1200M)
Pretty impossible race to assess so going for a bit of value here. Mr Hilton flew the lids fresh and is out of Encryption like our filly who will appreciate the step out. Michael Murphy stays on board and was in a three wide pressure test up front first up. He stuck on well there and will improve off the back of that run.
Â
Race 4: Benchmark 68 (1000M)
Keeping this race super simple. Cabaletto will lead, and that first start on a heavy may be the slight query but back on a good track should she marked improvement. She is three from six runs and has done everything right. Cejay remains and Balance the Books form looks very strong for a race like this.
Â
Race 5: Class 3 (1600M)
This looks a competitive enough class three even with the short priced favourite. Sir Winnie has the runs on the board and from a low draw should be able to cross and hold the rail. Assuming that is the place to be today then I really cannot see of these others running him down.
Â
Race 6: Benchmark 65 (1200M)
Pretty simple for Star Venture last start, was Ipswich and she was too far back. She is third up over the same trip so may be looking for further but on a good track in a race that looks to have a lot of runners that like the sting out could be her go here. She is out of Capitalist so it a sweet spot for her and it definitely the value in a race that is wide open.
Â
Race 7: Benchmark 65 (1200M)
Quickzou, just jump, lead and win. Keep it simple here and do not overthink it at all.
Â
Race 8: Class 1 (1400M)
I tell you what if Fireforce comes out and lobs here I will give it away but you just cannot be with him and as he promises the world and keeps missing. Quit ‘N’ Tap will get taken on here potentially but in the small field the was he won fresh I am really keen to stick with. Draws in the middle so should be able to cross and lead and then it’s a strap your self in job with Mr Du Plessis.
