Headquarters here we go! We return back to the hallowed turf and we have a RUNNER! The good news at least we have been punting ok here at Eagle Farm. We are back there today and we will be racing on a soft 5 track with the rail out nine and a half metres for the entire course with the first race is to jump at 12.27pm AEST.
Race 1: MAIDEN (1200M)
First starters, money for a Gollan runner who has trialled well and Spirit of Brodie with a bit of money, simple strategy – save your money!
Race 2: MAIDEN (1400M)
Back Naval Trader, been pretty luckless both runs in in its first preparation and should be winning this with any luck.
Race 3: MAIDEN (1600M)
Sir Carter for the MUGAROOS! Our boy is back and is out to the mile. He has drawn barrier 15 which is a clear indication that we have clearly upset someone when it comes to the barrier draw. There is a bit of pace here but the way he jumps I dare say he will be in the front six runners around the corner and fingers crossed the mug fans will be jumping for joy crossing the line first.
Race 4: MAIDEN (1200M)
Another maiden where there is a serious lack of comparable form and we just cannot simply be betting here with any real confidence.
Race 5: Benchmark 70 (1200M)
Born A Warrior is serious bet here. James Orman keeps the ride and a few that he has beat have come out and run well including Starzam, Gwan So and Miss Tambo.
Race 6: Class 1 (1400M)
The top half of this market all ran against each other last start and with Mista Omega dropping 1.5 kilos with Jaden on and The Lions Gate picking up half a kilo on Security Advisor they are both bets here. I am leaning towards the former even though the Matthew Dunn runner has drawn slightly better. Mista Omega it is, lets go Jaden!
Race 7: Class 1 (1000M)
Pretty keen on the second starter here in Set to Shine. Came out first up and put away a nice field beating home Tersane who knocked off Naval Trader and I think the latter is a promising horse. With its early speed the wide draw should be able to be offset and Ben Thompson should help.
Race 8: Benchmark 70 (1845M)
Well fair to say it is hard to jump on the back of Karlstad here but this is a very winnable race in my opinion. He picks up a kilo on last start but has had two wins over this trip before and does like Eagle Farm which are both big ticks. The most important piece of the puzzle is the form around The Red Kite who is flying.
Race 9: Benchmark 70 (1500M)
We have to be with Hang Five here particularly if Security Advisor, The Lion’s Gate and our tip Mista Omega run well in race 6. He absolutely flies at Eagle Farm and will get every favour from barrier 3, Brodie Loy should get the job done here.
