Well after an absolute eternity away from headquarters we are back on track here and back to Eagle Farm. The We are running on a Good 4 with the rail out 10 metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 1:00pm AEST.
Race 1: MAIDEN (1200M)
Pretty tough maiden this one but it is hard to go past a Chris Waller runner anywhere but particularly one called Isolyfe. Comes this from two runs late last year at Newcastle and a sharp trial at the Gold Coast on the 14th of February.
Race 2: Benchmark 65 (1000M)
Not keen on this race at all, pass.
Race 3: MAIDEN (1600M)
Will be interesting to see how Law Party goes here having only struck a good surface once before and now gets the newly laid Eagle Farm surface but the Forster polish will have it close again. Orman and Waller join forces on Embossing but with him being so lightly raced hard to have confidence. Could be some nice types come form it but happy to stay out here.
Race 4: Class 3 Plate (1200M)
Keen on Howdy Angel here for the Forster team. The trainer is a deadest Eagle Farm specialist and this horse has form around Morethannumberone which is very good for this lot and with the blinkers applied first time it really should sharpen her up.
Race 5: Class 1 Plate (1600M)
Laraina was good last start finally breaking the maiden with a classy win at Ipswich. The key here is two horses from that race have since won which means the form should stand up here. From the shoot start will have time to cross from the wide draw and with the three kilo claim could have this lot run off their feet bowling along in front.
Race 6: Class 4 Handicap (1600M)
This race looks pretty weak and that is why I think Mosshiki is a pretty good bet at the almost $4. Comes off two run the second in behind Dealmaker and Knight Mariner which is very strong form for this. Gets the claim with Adin Thompson on and excels on dry ground and at Eagle Farm.
Race 7: Benchmark 65 (1000M)
Preach comes up favourite here and while a first up winner and was smart beat home Good Bean who came out Saturday as favourite and was pretty disappointing running 9th of 12. The Rattlesnake has done very little wrong in five runs and last start behind Blackjack Boom and Zuma California among others looks good for this. Does like to go forward but from out wide would like to see it take a sit and use that speed to fly past them late.
Race 8: Benchmark 70 (1400M)
We round out the day with a decent Benchmark 70 and Expert Eye looks the overs in this race. Drawn the pole and should be able to sit in behind Bushido and Liability. Has two wins this preparation and the good surface and distance are huge ticks for her to run boldly.
