Well what a carnival it was, one of the truly greats with Champions announcing themselves and new kids on the block showing they may have what it takes in the coming months. With all that said and done we return back to headquarters for an eight race on what looks at first glance to lack a little class. We will be racing on a good 4 track with the rail out eight metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 12.33pm.
Race MAIDEN (1200M)
Almost all first starters, pick your favourite jockey or coloured silks here, pass.
Race 2: MAIDEN (1200M)
This is another race as per above and once again pretty hard with all the first starters.
Race 3: MAIDEN (1600M)
Another super tough maiden for race three but Guru Class showed a fair bit of ticker last start from back in the field. She stays at the same weight and with a bit of extra speed and a better barrier she can go two better here and take this out.
Race 4: Benchmark 72 (2212M)
Well well well this is a bit of a Toowoomba special, for that reason we are siding with one from up the hill. Adalissa was pretty good last start from the back at Toowoomba. It is extremely hard to run on from back there but she showed plenty of spirit. The extra trip will suit and she has run well before at the Farm.
Race 5: Benchmark 70 (1000M)
Knockknee does not win out of turn with five from twenty-one but the key is first up and over this short trip. She has won once before at the track and four wins from twelve over this distance. There has been a big drift in the price and I am seeing $18 some place which is massive overs for a very live chance in this even race.
Race 6: MAIDEN (1400M)
Tony Gollan brings one that he has purchased from down south but I think Heathcote could have a smart one in Deferential. If Guru Class comes out in the third and wins then this gives me real confidence here. Stepping out to the 1400M and fourth up he can be winning here.
Race 7: Benchmark 68 (1400M)
This race is an absolute lottery, happy to put the cue in the rack for this one.
Race 8: Class 1 (1200M)
The favourite comes up here at the shorts but the form around it is very good. Ocean Treaty came out on Saturday and ran second behind Character the greatest miler in SEQ. Since then Indian Dreamer has come out and went up to Rockhampton on Sunday and put them to the sword up there as well. Meritable split this pair and for that reason goes on top here.
