That was one wild weekend, we saw the unbeaten champ go under and I think I am still recovering. We have what will surely be a good 4 track with the sun out and summer style weather around with the rail out seven metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 11.56am.
Race 1: MAIDEN (1110M)
Race full of maiden runners, big field, it’s a simple no thanks.
Race 2: Benchmark 68 (1110M)
This is a very even race and is a smaller field and surely Vivika who should have won first up but got out a little late. She will be flying late and gets Benny Thompson on board so lookout the price looks very juicy.
Race 3: MAIDEN (2040M)
I am little concerned about launching into a maiden over the 2000M here but Empress Aspen out of Tagaloa battled away down the outside and looked like this extra trip will really suit. Angela Jones should be able to sit closer and hopefully can sit just off Promises Made and Classic Shiraz.
Race 4: Handicap (2040M)
Another 2000M race how good something to get up and about. This race looks a little bit easier though with the Charlton stable bringing up Good Banter and Ben Thompson jumping on board. Last start with a four length run behind Machine Gun Gracie she will be mighty hard to hold out assuming that Kairos Louie does get more pressure up front and doesn’t get his own way.
Race 5: MAIDEN (1200M)
Not keen at all this, its an absolute lottery here with a fair class of non-winners.
Race 6: Class 5 (1640M)
Well another really tough race here. I have to side here with Laridae even with Nails Murphy absolutely flying. The have both been up a while but the former went down to Éclair Awesome last start and prior to that was a good winner at Doomben, and then has The Wheelbarrow form which was franked a fortnight ago in a Saturday metro race.
Race 7: Class 3 (1200M)
There is an absolute hot pot here. Mercurial Lady comes through a really nice form race here and there has been early money on as well. Absolutely flew late and nearly picked them up, and that was behind Cindersea, Dominant Darcy and Savagery Vibe.
Race 8: Class 3 (1200M)
If Robrick is going well here then surely he can be winning this. Last preparation he was down south and was beating a few smart ones home then went to a listed race behind Café Millenium and Transatlantic.
Race 9: Benchmark 70 (1350M)
Well one of the mugs favourite’s is in here in quack quack the Superduck but with thirty degree days he does not get the conditions to suit here. Kinross Lane just had to peel wide last start and the winner scraped paint and that was simply the difference. From the pole draw today she will be much closer and yes the second up record doesn’t read super but happy to be with her in a race with a lot a few of these been up a while.
