Back to near enough to headquarters in the big smoke but this time it is at Eagle Farm, the centre of the universe in Brisbane. We are back to eight races, and we will be racing on a soft 5 track with the rail out twelve metres for entire course and the first race to jump at 12.35pm.
Race 1: MAIDEN (1800M)
Pretty tough race here but siding with the Billy Healey trained Wimoweh who should have won last start but simply peaked on the run late. She was brave there and from another soft draw and stepping out in trip third up with the in form Angela Jones on board.
Race 2: MAIDEN (1000M)
Most of these this trip is short of their best but it will be interesting to see how it plays out. If they go hard in front as their does look like a bit of tempo here perhaps the first starter for Gollan can get the chocolates, Immediate that is.
Race 3: Benchmark (1400M)
Well as the king says, Rocky form is the best form. Lone Artist absolutely bolted in during the carnival up North and with Sutherland and the claim here if he improves fourth up off that last run then he will be mighty hard to hold out.
Race 4: MAIDEN (1400M)
Not keen this race but Righteous Legend with superior from Sydney should win this first up for the Robl stable with a field of non-winners going around.
Race 5: Class 1 (1200M)
Eccelstone is a track and distance winner here and has had a decent spell leading up to this. The form prior was pretty good for a race like this. He will be able to settle closer and the in form Angela Jones suggests that there is intent here from the stable.
Race 6: Class 1 (1200M)
Acapulco Girl was only gunned down late last start. She has had a brief spell and her first up form is superior. The draw is the only real setback here otherwise she would odds on and should still be too good for these.
Race 7: Benchmark 65 (1000M)
This horse needs to just be handle bars down and it will be winning. Tiger Tie knows only one way, and its hyper speed over the short trips. In a race that looks to lack pace he can lead this uncontested and if nothing else goes forward should just be too strong with fitness on his side.
Race 8: Class 3 (1800M)
Rocky form again here with Lupine. Another convincing winner over their carnival and with the further step out and a two length win last start the distance should be no trouble. The Currie yard are flying and he can notch up win number three here.
