Eagle Farm | December 12

Well we had twilight meetings and then The Gateway got the mouth watering for the Stradbroke next year. We will be racing on what will be a good 4 track with the rail out seven metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 1.35pm.

Race 1: MAIDEN (1400M)

Not keen to play in this first race, pretty averaged keen to stay out.

Race 2: Class 1 (1600M)

Keen to play on the Chris Anderson runner here in A Certain Maybe. The filly has had two runs over this trip and third run this preparation she will be rock hard fit. From the pole draw she can sit just behind the speed and with Dolan sticking I am keen to play.

Race 3: Benchmark 65 (1835M)

Another tough race and a few of these have been up a long time. Prefer Us is fourth up here and just seems to line up the best for this race. She beat home The Love Rocket two runs back and then was beaten for speed over the mile. With her getting back out to a suitable trip she can be winning here.

Race 4: Benchmark 65 (1400M)

Well it does not get any easier here. The favourite here was really good last preparation behind Viminele and Invisible Tears. If he turns up here from barrier three with Orman on he can be winning. Already A Star, time to start becoming a star.

Race 5: MAIDEN (1400M)

I liked Whatta Whitt last start at Ipswich and he just didn’t seem to get clear air. In a race like this which appears on paper pretty even from a low draw and fourth up over 1400M. He can be just behind the pace from the draw and with even luck will be in this a nice each way quote.

Race 6: Class 3 (1000M)

Simon Foster does not often bring one up and the fact he has suggests there is a bit of an opinion about this horse High Plateau. He had James McDonald on last start so that means that this horse has ability or at the very least potential. With a perfect record over the trip I am keen to lean his way.

Race 7: Class 2 (1200M)

Both the favourites have drawn wide here so does leave this race open. The key here is Latakia crossing them and with Orman on and intent early I am with her for that reason. She was in behind Midnight in Tokyo and then Maid to Fit, both horses are airborne. Latakia is third up here after a freshen up and can win this.
