Doomben | September 11

Midweek racing returns back to Doomben. We will be racing on a soft 5 track with we have the rail out nine and a half metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 12.33pm.

Race 1: MAIDEN (1110M)

The trial hard king has been up and about and he is all over Starsonus, from barrier seven it should get a good run in transit and although this trip may be slightly short of his best, it looks like the play here in a wide open field.

Race 2: Benchmark 68 (1650M)

This is a tough race, the favourite looks hard to beat but that last run was pretty poor, prior to that though he was flying. Bit of the Blarney snuck up the inside at the Sunshine Coast first up and that was just the wrong part of the track. He should be better for the run and will Orman sticking I think he is the one to beat today on a track with a bit of the sting out.

Race 3: MAIDEN (1650M)

Pretty ordinary field this, I have to be with Shabooh Shalaa although a few runs in this preparation he has yet grab a victory. The lower draw should suit here and with Ryan Maloney on board it shows intent.

Race 4: Class 1 (1650M)

Well it doesn’t get much easier. Lietuva should get the drop on these from the low draw but I thought if there is any improvement in Aerial Bay who wasn’t ridden out last start I think it’s a play at the each way price. Gollan flies at Doomben.

Race 5: MAIDEN (1350M)

Another maiden over the 1350M which doesn’t make it easy. Headline Legend has been good in three runs this preparation. Draws low and can sit handy to the speed and Lee Freedman back to town shows a bit of confidence. If he handles the soft track he can be winning this.

Race 6: Benchmark 65 (1110M)

If Rich Minx controls this out in front they may not catch him. I am happy to be with the odds on shot here.

Race 7: Class 4 (1350M)

We were with Seneschal last time in and the wide draw and four wide run last start and from barrier ten and with a bit of weight relief this time in I cannot see how the $11 will hold, he could to good for this lot.

Race 8: Benchmark 65 (1350M)

Zakiyya has drawn the carpark here but with a lot of scratchings she should only jump from barrier nine. Her first up run was super considering it is short of her best. Ryan Maloney sticks here and she will be really hard to beat rattling down the outside.
