Doomben | May 29

Well after a blowout in the cup we need to rally the mug faithful here for this mid-week return to Doomben. We will be racing on a soft 6 track with we have the rail out five metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 12.12pm.

 Race 1: MAIDEN (2030M)

Maiden over the 2030M is simply a recipe to lose money save it for later on.

Race 2: Handicap (1200M)

No reason to jump off The Gambling Greek here second up after saluting for us first up. This is a slightly better race out of maiden grade but from a middle alley and with Angela Jones on board the $6 quote is a nice early play.

Race 3: MAIDEN (1200M)

Invincible Shield comes to this up from Melbourne first go for the Gollan team and with Craig Williams aboard and form around See What I See who it beat home second start and then in behind Griff over the mile, this first up assault he should be primed and ready to win.

Race 4: Open Handicap (1200M)

Well Dream Hour won its way if they take it, into the Stradbroke. Off the back of that I have it on top here albeit in a race with a few chances. Punch Lane the big watch with a really good first up record.

Race 5: Benchmark 68 (1630M)

Well the form around Cartwheels is great and with the low draw and the useful claim from Emily Lang it can keep that superior record going here. Terrified of Blazen Boots for Gollan and Shinn so will be saving on it if the real Blazen Boots shows up.

Race 6: Class 5 (1350M)

Well if Ready for Anything cannot win this with the weight drop and Blake Shinn aboard it might never win another race. From barrier six he should get a lovely drop on them and with Kiplings up front trained by the master to be rolling along our boy should be able to peel of their backs late and put them to the sword.

Race 7: Benchmark 65 (1200M)

Well the short price favourite here will have Mozzas money that is for certain but I think still does enough wrong to steer clear of it. Smart Recognition was really good first up behind Cryptoshare and flew late to grab third. Gets to this race second up and from a beautiful alley can sit just off the leader which should be Metalert and will get the last crack.

Race 8: Class 1 (1350M)

Well it is time for last chances here and that is New Level. He was in behind three horses that are going pretty well in Cranky Harry, Johnny Da Wolf and Anemacore last start at Ipswich. He gets a strong rider in Justin Huxtable aboard and while the form doesn’t read well, happy to have a throw at the stumps late in the day.
