Doomben | July 30

It has been tough weeks of late with the form harder to line up post the carnival. This midweeks racing we are at Doomben and while it’s a soft  6 on pace was the place to be on Saturday.  We have nine races this afternoon with the rail out ten metres for entire course and the first race to jump at 12.00pm.

Race 1: MAIDEN (1110M)

This is a pretty tough race here with the favourite drawn extremely well but Brazen Act should it jump and lead Angela Jones will be pushing hard to try and lock up this premiership and with the form of the Schweida stable will be hard to hold out.

Race 2: MAIDEN (1200M)

First starters galore here and happy to steer clear.

Race 3: MAIDEN (1350M)

Another very hard race here, and once again settling on Angela Jones. I think there is a lack of pace here but with intent and form around Deep Tiara I thought Tszyuya second up here could really come over the top at a nice each-way price.

Race 4: Class 3 (1400M)

As mentioned before the stable are airborne and that is why Facundo just looks the play here. He is 1/2 over this trip and there has been winners out of his prior races. Cejay jumps on here so goes up a few kilos there but from the low draw and in a race lacking a bit of tempo I think he is certainly the one to beat at the price.

Race 5: Class 1 (2060M)

A class 1 on a track that copped a beating from the weather over the weekend for a 2060M is a simple pass here.

Race 6: Class 5 (1660M)

Well fair to say I have a favourite jockey here in Angela Jones for this Wednesday and Diana’s Affair back in trip and drawn in the middle. Peak fitness back in trip and while he may be over the hill this preparation worth one more go in a weak race.

Race 7: Benchmark 65 (1000M)

Pretty decent race here and there is pace drawn in. Looking at the race on paper I think Drang a Tang should be able to sit just off Certainlycan. The stable is going super well and is three from six over this trip, keen to play him each-way.

Race 8: Open Handicap (1350M)

Mister Bianco come here third up peaking in fitness and yes carrying grandstand in weight but senior jockey on board here and excels this track. He will handle the soft track and be able to settle just off the speed and use that explosive turn of foot to come steaming over the top.

Race 9: Class 3 (1350M)

Just back the favourite here. Kickatinalong barrier two and our jockey on board here in Bobby Thorburn.

#Beans Bazinga – R7 H2 – Drang A Tang (each-way all day)
