Doomben July 16 | Best Bets + Preview

Back to near enough to headquarters in the big smoke at Doomben. We are back to eight races, and we will be racing on a good 4 track with the rail out eight metres for entire course and the first race to jump at 12.36pm.

Race 1: MAIDEN (1200M)

Deep Vegas form looks pretty good for this, so just back Barberry Spur, multi banker.

Race 2: Class 5 (1350M)

Small field the rule generally is back the longest price in this case that is Sir Carter form and Drialle. Keen to be with Weigall Tiger but take the quinella.

Race 3: MAIDEN (1200M)

Impossible to line these up, just back the little man on the radio who said Kurithea is a smart one so keen to play that way in an open race.

Race 4: MAIDEN (1200M)

I am sticking with Shanidar here came from barrier 12 last start and with barrier 5 and Jaden Lloyd on board she can be handier to the speed. The stable is going well and think it will improve second up.

Race 5: Class 2 (1200M)

Well we had Crown Guinea provide success many weeks ago and while has been up a while just never runs a poor race. She will appreciate the good track and dropping back in weight in a race where there should be plenty of tempo that will allow her to run on late.

Race 6: Benchmark 65 (2050M)

This is just a low race, I mean literally any of them could win this and it wouldn’t surprise, happy to save our money.

Race 7: Class 1 (1650M)

Going with the Sunny Coast trained Out of Aces here from barrier 7 in a small field. He ran well first up and steps out to a trip he has won over prior after a really nice lead in trial here.

Race 8: Benchmark 68 (1650M)

Stick with Savannah Gangster here has been up a while but impressive last start and there has been form around that race. Draws barrier three and will sit behind the leaders from there. He has picked a few kilos on last start but the race doesn’t appear much strong and he can win again.
