Doomben | January 25

It's a big day today with our boy Sir Carter going around. The Mugs are up and about. After a drizzly night in Brisbane there should be give in the track and we will be racing on a Soft 6. The rail is out 8.5m for the entire course with the first race to jump at 12.38pm AEST.

Race 1: MAIDEN (1650M)

Maidens over the mile at Doomben are a simple pass play for the Mugs, market has no idea who should be on top so for that reason we will be staying out.

Race 2: MAIDEN (1200M)

Pretty simple this race back our boy Sir Carter. He is rock hard fit after two trials and a jump out and the 1200m first-up should suit. With the king Ryan Wiggins on board, he gets every chance to take out what looks like a very winnable race.

Race 3: MAIDEN (1200M)

Another maiden, well they have made today easy, not! Siding with Big Sky Country here from the Gollan yard with early form around Spiritualised. That horse went to another level in the lead up to the Millions and this bloke has done nothing wrong. He will go forward from the draw and with a lack of pace inside might be able to take this up and then prove hard to catch.

Race 4: Maiden (1110M)

Windshadow the $2.60 favourite is going to have to be very good to win from barrier 14 at Doomben over the 1110M and with a few starters here we will be staying out.

Race 5: Class 1 (1050M)

Well Class 1 here and the odds on pop Nashira has King Kapa form and that is horse is flying at the moment, bet till it hurts!

Race 6: MAIDEN (1650M)

This is a pretty hard race to assess but we are going with a bit of value in Firstluv. This mare has been going super its last couple and first go out to this trip will be a test but one I think she will relish. She does have a tendency to get right back in the run but from gate 5 if Sammy can hold a spot and unleash that turn of foot at the top of straight we will be on here.

Race 7: Benchmark 70 (1200M)

Going with He Knows here in the seventh even on the card. I backed him last start and he does fly first up and was super at the sunny coast. Neds Gully has since come out and won at Ipswich for the mugs last Wednesday and I think its time to go back to the place that started this run in He Knows.

Race 8: Class 5 (1350M)

Well we got it wrong with Miss Baltimore last start where she trotted in and off the back of that and a similar track and suits her pattern seems only fair we cash in today.

Race 9: Benchmark 65 (1350M)

Another mind boggler to finish the day but I think we should just keep it simple here. Ready for Anything should lead from the pole and with a good track and distance record it will be fighting out the finish with Prime Asset who both come through that Spiritualised form line.
