Well after a bit of a reshuffle last week we are back on track and racing on a Wednesday again and get treated to a midweek at Doomben. We have soft 5 track with the rail five metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 1.38pm.
Race 1: MAIDEN (1200M)
Well unraced two year old maidens it is complete no from me.
Race 2: MAIDEN (1110M)
Once again it is just too hard to line these up, particularly with a couple of short priced favourites going head to head.
Race 3: MAIDEN (1110M)
Well if La Petite Maison comes out in race two and bolts in then I will be keen to play Caxton Lass here even from the wider draw. The slight extra trip really suits here and he was back in the run last start and rocketed home so he can do it again here.
Race 4: MAIDEN (1630M)
Well Jungle Prince dominated a couple of these last start and out that field I think Discover from the lower draw deserves favouritism and I am keen to play. Martin Harley and will be closer in the run, he gets to this fourth up and peaking it fitness he can be winning this for the Waller stable.
Race 5: Benchmark 65 (1630M)
Pretty tough race this with a real lack of solid Doomben form across the board. Hadouken has a really good record over this trip, and with a soft track expected and the claim he should be close enough in the run and second up he can really surprise here at a nice quote.
Race 6: Class 5 (1350M)
Prime Asset just really stands out here. First up his record his a little poor but second up absolutely flies. Has only missed a place twice this trip and has a really good record at this track. Gets the premier jockey and from barrier four just gets every favour possible.
Race 7: Benchmark 65 (2030M)
Well this is a bloody average field, the favourite from down south should be hard to hold but I think best just save our coin here.
Race 8: Benchmark 68 (1200M)
Well fair to say deep race to end the day here, so there will be money on the table if you are keen to play. We have sided with Single Touch here to finish the day. He comes up from Armidale after a really nice win and carried significant weight there as well. Draws the pole here will be positive from the draw, and while he can be flat second up in an open race and midweek confidence he can win this for the mugs to finish the day on high.
