Rain, rain go away, and finally it has, albeit after this weeks midweek metro meeting getting pushed back a day. We will be racing on a heavy 8 apparently with the rail out eleven metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 12.53pm.
Race 1: Benchmark 68 (1200M)
Surely Ser Joh can get it done today, it has been barely beaten twice now and with experience on the heavy and a nice draw it the last chance here for the mugs supporter base.
Race 2: MAIDEN (1050M)
First starters and the heavy deck this is a no bet race for us.
Race 3: Benchmark 68 (1660M)
Keen to play the Harry Richardson trained Patmos Island here. He was very good first up and second up on a heavy deck at a track that he went well last start on and he will also be on the pace which should suit the conditions.
Race 4: Class 4 (1200M)
Was keen Gaius, but with it being out, no bet race for the mugs.
Race 5: MAIDEN (1350M)
This is strictly a name backing bet but playing the first starter here in Jungle Prince. I am a sucker for anything Jungle-edge specification. He is out of Tarzino so will definitely be looking for further but after two pretty sharp trials leading in and key booking in Ryan Maloney on board its worth a small dabble.
Race 6: Class 1 (1350M)
Well the Doomben form around this race is average to say the least. We are going with Snow Boum here though, with a less than a length defeat to Lennic who goes around the shorts on Saturday and has won its last couple that look like the form like to be with.
Race 7: Benchmark 75 (1350M)
Granite Prince looks a nice bet here and should relish the sting out of the turf. I would also have a small dabble on Bold Pedro, yes the form is not great of late but second up goes well and from a low draw gets all the favours to knock of this lot.
