Doomben | December 20

Writer's picture: Mugs PuntingMugs Punting

The festive season is here and in the spirit of giving racing Queensland gave our boy Ocean Honour barrier two, so for all those non believers out there, Christmas miracles do occur. We will be racing on what will be a good 4 track with the rail out nine metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 1.07pm.

Race 1: Class 3 (1650M)

Well after being all over him last start I am giving him a final chance. Sacred Mission stays at the 1650M here at Doomben and was super brave last start and draws low again at peak fitness with Maloney sticking he will prove mighty hard to beat here.

Race 2: MAIDEN (1200M)

Certainlycan should be a mile better than these but barrier fourteen at Doomben over 1200M scares the life out of me.

Race 3: MAIDEN (1200M)

Another maiden, happy to stay out here and watch a few of these newcomers belt it out together.

Race 4: Benchmark 65 (1350M)

Keen to play here with Torque I Tee. He was great first up and then barely beaten second up and drops back to 58 kilos here with Bailey Wheeler on his back. Third up on a deck where he runs well and being on the pace should have him in the right part of the track coming into the straight.

Race 5: Benchmark 65 (2060M)

Twice on Sunday steps out to this trip for the first time and she has been going well this preparation with a few really nice runs. Runs prior behind Tojaki and Midnight in Tokyo line up well here and from barrier one she will leading them here and with claimer engaged go a few better here.

Race 6: MAIDEN (1200M)

Pretty simple here, our boy Ocean Honour, finally draws a gate and with Huxtable retaining he will be very hard to beat here, even with a classy favourite, I am backing our boy in here.

Race 7: Class 1 (1110M)

All the hype here is with Barassi from the Edmonds and I have it on top but it will not be the easiest class one to win here.

Race 8: Benchmark 70 (1350M)

So Country flies first up and the Lockwood yard bets big and early and this will continue for this runner with James Orman booked. He has drawn a bit wide but if he crosses and sits just outside the leader and kicks away on the turn it will be a see you later job.
