Doomben | Best Bets + Preview

Another midweek Doomben card and yet another here  at Mugville this Wednesday. With three runners at Doomben today we are jumping out of our skin and it’s a tiny yet enthralling six race card. We will be racing on a heavy 8 track with the rail out eight metres for the entire course and the first race to jump at 1.53pm.

Race 1: MAIDEN (1350M)

Tricky little maiden to start the day here. I like the form of Private Equity last start and she should run well again stepping out over a trip. From a low draw we can get KWT back in the winners stall to start the day on the heavy deck.

Race 2: Class 2 (1650M)

Well you take the odds on here or you find a bit of value. While Tuff Tu Mus will be mighty hard to beat Cartwheels has been crying out for some give in the track and gets that tomorrow. She draws low and comes to this third up and Andrew Mallyon dare I say it, is airborne. Our boy Kenichi lines up building right up to the correct trip.

Race 3: Class 4 (1200M)

We are absolutely ready to fire here with our boy Sir Carter. He draws well again and gets Emily back on who rode him so well last start. He will jump and lead this field off and fifth up this prep he is fit and should be winning here today.

Race 4: Benchmark 65 (2050M)

The mugs go again here with Rhodes and while he has come up a price if he can lead this field off with the sting out of the track he could surprise stepping out to the right trip. The other roughie in this field that is worth a small ticket is Giddy Gan’s Joy, with wet track form, low draw and Cejay on she is a big watch.

Race 5: Benchmark 65 (1200M)

Flywheel won first up and was impressive and the barrier here just really suits. He should just bounce off that first up win and unless he’s flat second up should just on with the job here.

Race 6: Class 1 (1350M)

Finally we end the day with a Class 1 and we are siding with the last start winner in Divine Diamonds. She has had one go on a heavy track with a nice third place and while she didn’t beat a whole lot last start she was tough late and should really bounce of that win.
