Sunshine Coast Preview 04/06

if you’re reading this have you booked your spot at the Mugs exSTRADDYganza?! Why not? CLICK HERE then ya Mug, ok, let’s head up the Bruce!

We’ve got a nice 9 race card from the best track in the world (fight us) The Sunshine Cpast Turf Club. Track’s a Soft 5 likely to be upgraded, Rail is in the +3, but like most meets, is mostly an even playing field.

We’re gonna enter full Mug mode in Race 1. The David VanSCTC doesn’t do a lot wrong but we finally get to see this favourite get out to am appropriate trip. Jakkalberry Finn is a nice little multi banker and should be a sit and steer job for gun hoop Ryan Maloney, watch for a nice little turn of foot from the son of a Melbourne Cup placegetter.

Race 2 sees another maiden contest over the mile; Spirit’s Charm looks to be set to break the maiden but Mugs are not convinced quite enough to load and launch.

We’re going to see some formlines pop up here in Races 3 & 4. In Race 4 we see Uncommon James open at the shorts after a solid finish behind Lime Soda at the GC. Behind it was Sounds Devine who did it tough from the wide draw that day and got going when it was all said and done. Barrier 1 today, up-to the 1000, big open track. Yes Please.

Ahh well Mystic Aroma would’ve won by 10L, but we’ll have to wait for another day! Can’t have a maidener that short in a big field like this.

Race 5 and we’re still talking about maidens! Nothing here, we’ll save on the word limit.

We’ve found a great way to kick off the quaddie but looks like a few others have as well, The Diamond has been $10 > $6 and looks a good play here. Palicki looks to be your leader but is one of those horses that you don’t know what version is going to turn up. Kendrick horses strike at about 20% at home, so expecting The Diamond to be another for the stat sheet, sitting off the pace and being able to come home the better.

It’s Chris Waller HCP areas here, 2200m, horses in and out of form, help us. The great game, Isabella’s Spring has been a bridesmaid 8 times, not be outdone by Savvy Oak who promised the world at one point (2nd in the SA Derby). The tip? find ya closest dartboard and wind up.

There’s one here in R8 that we are taking purely on the pain that if it wins and we’re not on it, it’ll hurt, Final Declaration. The Fogden yard saddles up the 4YO son of Exceed and Excel, in what hopefully is a penny dropping prep. He‘s a big unit who’s all over the place so finally he gets to a track that’ll suit such as the Sunny Coast. The form in this race leaves little to be desired and with no real stand out, the price is worth the punt.

Race 9 over the 1400 leaves us with a curious runner. Vampirina Diamond was super impressive first up after 383 days off, winning convincingly last start at Toowoomba. The concern is a flat performance second up after a long break, DVSCTC saddles up the ex-Godolphin Sedgemoor for the second time. First up was never in from barrier 13 but will have a chance to settle in the run here for Maloney and produce late.
