The Mugs have been suffering with the lack of racing we have been able to have in Queensland of late, but thanks to the Sunshine Coast Turf Club and their new poly track, we are racing tomorrow even with the current deluge. We are running on what will be a poly track heaven but I dare say there will be a bit of kick back going on. The rail is in the true for the entire course and the first race is set to jump at 1:03pm AEST.

Race 1: 2YO Class 1 Handicap (1000M)

The Hulbert yard had the first winner on Friday for the Mugs in Mystic Aroma on the poly and they look to go back to back in subsequent meets in the first race with Heroic Son here. In a small field with genuine early pace, he will be leading or just in behind the front pair. The blinkers have been applied for the first time here so he will be sharpened up and at the $2.40, he is a great bet to start day. He should be winning.

Race 2: Maiden Plate (1600M)

In the first maiden of the day, we are over the mile and there are a few key chances. Kopangi gets here second up after a nice run behind Invisible Tears at the Gold Coast and we have the three in Adalissa, Vitae and Kittykittibangbang who all ran in behind the bolter Giveitallali. Vitae from barrier two draws to do no work and should be one-out, one-back in the run. Vitae will get every favour here and sticks to the same trip. Last chance for the Mugs.

Race 3: F&M Class 1 Handicap (1100M)

Avolonte owners would be devastated they are not running on the grass at Doomben because this filly swims, she is an absolute mud lark. The Hulbert's have another very nice hand here with My Odette, who last start seemingly got over her bad manners and was just too good for them at the Gold Coast. I think on this poly track surface you need to be handy in the run as not too many ran on on Friday. My Odette will be leading this field and back to the 1100M with the early gate speed, she will be too quick for this lot.

Race 4: Benchmark 65 (2000M)

We move out to the 2000M mark for the fourth race and as we all know, these are the Chris Waller Handicaps and he has brought a few runners here. While Khaalis and Kirkeby look like very live chances, they do tend to get back in the ruck which could be a concern. Motamayiz was pretty good leading for all bar the last couple of hundred metres last start. He looks to get the lead fairly comfortably here and if left alone in front and well rated by Byrne, he is a knockout chance at odds.

Race 5: Class 5 Handicap (1000M)

We are back at the sprint trip here and with only four runners left it doesn't leave us with much. Toorooloo will be leading here and should get it relatively uncontested however in these small fields, generally a horse like Hidden Eyes will be closer and should be winning here.

Race 6: C,G&E Class 1 Handicap (1100M)

There are a few coming together here that the Mugs have been all over lately but yet to catch the winner. Titanium gets the blinkers going on first time here which should really sharpen him up and with the smaller field similar to the previous race he shouldn't be too far off them. With his mind on the job, I can see him winning this.

Race 7: Benchmark 65 (1600M)

In the penultimate event we have a race over the mile for the battlers and there is talent about a few of these. Spokesman was an impressive last start winner at Ipswich and comes up against Jack the Lad with Two Smokin Barrels and Sagacious likely to lead them off. The Mugs aren't overly keen here and while Spokesman should win, it is hard to gauge how he will go on this track.

Race 8: Class 3 Plate (1400M)

Finally we round out the day and this race is an absolute mockery. Three horses line up here and well that is all she wrote. not keen on any but always love a three horse race, back the roughie if you are betting, they tend to lob.
