A big fat nine race card will be run and won this afternoon at Callaghan Park, which calls for a big fat preview. We aren’t going to go overboard on the preview - we’re still recovering from Mystic Aroma’s win - so we’ll keep it short and sweet.
Lloydy’s Lock - Race 3 Whoa Lola
This girl has shown a bit of promise in her two career starts to date, running fifth and second respectively. Her recent trial was impressive, as she raced away to win by 6.25 lengths at this track, defeating subsequent winner Countya Falls. Tessa Townsend takes the ride here, an apprentice jockey who rode 11 winners from her 36 rides across October and November, so she will be looking to continue that form in her first ride this summer. The tricky draw is compensated by the 3kg claim and the horse’s good gate speed, so she should be handy in the run and then be able to put them away. The $2.60 looks a great bet.
