Well well well, we have reached the beautiful mid week event that is Doomben and have a measly seven race card but lets not get discouraged lets find some winners on the card. In the first event of the card we have a horse that is really smart for the Chris Waller yard in Merimee. It drops back here to the 1350M which is not ideal but assuming that it’s the most suitable event they can aim her at. She sprinted straight past them last start and in this small field I think will be able to avoid trouble an should be too classy here.
We quickly move on to the fourth event here and Volunteer has come up $2.60 but I really just cannot have him here from barrier 12. The second favourite here Regal Edition comes off a second to Vantina who looks pretty smart. He had a really tough run coming from almost last on the corner and having to peel about four wide around the bend and then battled to run straight. From the draw he gets every favour and will be closer in the run and ahead of favourite and should be too good here with fitness in the legs third up.
In the penultimate they key we are seeking here is that Funny Money jumps well. Missed the kick last start but was still too classy over the 900M at the Gold Coast. Similar track here which should suit her but will be heart in the mouth stuff late because they chasers will be closing. Let her run Tiff!
The day will be rounded out with a future star of the river cities racing ranks. Dominarcher has had three wins from five starts and kicked off this campaign with a beautiful win first up. Chased them down smartly and the step up in trip he will only improve. Yet to miss this trip and from a soft draw and with the small field it should be miles too good for this lot.
