We’ve been graced with seven races at Cairns this afternoon, and what better way to see them go around than on a Good 4 with the rail true?!
The opener presents us with a 1250m maiden where none of the tried horses have shown any signs of potential, so we are going to have a little each-way speck on the first starter, Interrogation. The 4YO gelding is drawn the rail, should hold a forward spot and if he‘s half okay he can beat most of them home.
Dream of Dubai goes around short in the second and it should just be as simple as that. The 3YO has had 13 starts for 4 seconds and now gets out to the more suitable 1400m for the first time this prep. She has drawn wide in nine, but with only 52kg on her back she should scoot across and be hard to catch.
Race 3 sees three oranges go around equal favs. Have the tri, take your winnings to the fourth. They’re hard to split.
The fourth race is a 2YO Handicap over the 950m trip; so it will be handle bars down. Keys Please has had just the three starts for two wins and a second, so the $1.95 looks a gift. She has to overcome the wide barrier, but Kliesse knows her well and will know that he just needs to find the front with her. Husette beat her home last start and then franked the form by winning again, so we expect her to be too good.
The fifth is a pass for us, but we will be interested to see how the ex-Darryl Hansen-trained Coastal Boy goes in his stable debut. He always showed ability in SEQ and is a good each way price for those toey for a bet.

Bugger it, we’re saying it; Greycliffe. Once an $11 chance in the VRC Derby, the now 6YO finds himself in a BM65 over the 1900m at Cairns off the back of a fourth at Mount Garnet (where is that?). The 1900m will suand if speed is on like we expect, he can be getting into the placings at least.
Hopefully we will be ahead by now, so we won’t be playing in the last. If you’ve done your backside at Newy, Moe or god forbid, Port Macquarie, Fluttering looks the right horse to blast out on.
